Originally from Mumbai, India, Suvidha completed her Bachelor’s degree at Mumbai University in 2016 and continued to pursue her Master’s degree from Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, India. While studying for Masters she was selected for unique opportunity in collaboration with Hochschule Darmstadt, Germany to pursue additional degree Master of Science in same filed of Communication Engineering. She did her internship and master thesis at Commsolid GmbH, Dresden, Germany focused on power efficient physical layer design for peer-to-peer link between NB-IoT UE. After finishing her MS from Germany in 2019, she worked as a Research and Development Engineer at IS-Wireless, Poland participating in various H2020 projects and internal product contributing several novel algorithms and policies in the area of RAN, RRM, beyond 5G, Slicing, Cell-less etc. Since October 2020, she is an ESR at Iquadrat Informatica SL, Barcelona, Spain in the framework of the Marie Sk?odowska Curie ITN SEMANTIC project focused on end-to-end network slicing and orchestration under the supervision of Dr. John Vardakas.

Swastika completed her Bachelor’s degree at the dept. of ETE from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Techology (RUET), Bangladesh in 2015 and later pursue her M.Tech degree at EE dept. from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT-B), India under the Indian Council for Cultural Religion ICCR Scholarship in Bangladesh Scheme and graduated in 2019. Her master’s project mainly focused on the instantiation and management of virtual network functions based on NFV (Network Function Virtualization) in cloud environment and integration with SDN (Software Defined Networking) which is basically one of the parts of 5G testbed project. Since October 2020, she has joined as an ESR at CTTC, Barcelona, Spain in the framework of the H-2020 Marie Sk?odowska Curie ITN SEMANTIC project focused on Joint optimization of dynamic functional split and X-haul design of next generation core under the supervision of Dr. Christos Verikoukis. As the requirement of Semantic project, she is going to pursue her PhD degree at Signal Theory and Communication Engineering Department of Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona.

Madhura Adeppady has received her bachelor of engineering degree in information science and engineering from Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Mysore, affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, India, in 2015. Pavlos Doanis received his BSc degree in Physics (2015) from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Also, in 2019 he received his MSc degree in Electronic Physics (Radioelectrology) in the area of Electronic Telecommunications Technology from the same University. His MSc Thesis focused on Waveform Design for Wireless Power Transfer using Evolutionary Algorithms. During 2018 he completed a research internship at Ampere Laboratory, École Centrale de Lyon, France, concerning Time Reversal processing in UHF RFID systems. From 2019 until the summer of 2020 he was a research assistant at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in the project entitled “Advancing Rational Exploitation of Water Irrigation Using 5G-IoT Capabilities”. Since October 2020, he has joined the MSCA ITN SEMANTIC project as a PhD student at EURECOM, Sophia-Antipolis, France.

Vaishnavi Kasuluru got her M.Sc. degree in Information and Communication Engineering in 2020 from TU Darmstadt, Germany and her B.Sc. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering in 2016 from SSN College of Engineering, affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, India. During her M.Sc. she did her 1st internship in 2018 at National Instruments which was focused on implementation of real time LTE / 5G-NR MAC functionality like handling of data packets (real-time UDP video data) and scheduling between users based on their channel quality in LabVIEW (LV along with preparing LV MAC demo setup of eNB and users). The LV MAC demo was presented at Globecom conference in Abu Dhabi by National Instruments. She did her 2nd internship and master thesis in 2019 at Ericsson GmbH focusing on building performance indicators, using those indicators to perform dynamic video bit rate adaption and preparing testbeds to evaluate uplink video streamed over LTE and 5G network for V2X communication use case.
Currently, she is a Marie-Curie fellow Early Stage Researcher in CTTC research institute, Barcelona, Spain in collaboration with UPC University for gaining PhD. Her focus of work would be under ITN SEMANTIC project on flexible localization for fine-grid proximity services in 5G and beyond networks supervised by Dr.Christos Verikoukis.

Azadeh Tabeshnezhad received her B.Sc. degree in Communication Engineering in 2017 from Azad University of Najafabad Branch, Isfahan, Iran. Also, in 2018 she received her M.Sc. degree in Communication Systems from Science and Research Branch, Tehran, Iran. Her Master’s project focused on evaluating the outage probabilities of general underwater wireless optical communication (UWOC) systems and highlighted the beneficial application of cooperative and relay assisted transmission over UWOC channels. She was invited to be a visiting researcher at Chalmers University of Technology for 6 months in 2019, working on research related to 5G systems and the challenges associated with beyond-5G/6G systems. In particular, she has been collaborating on a new project related to reduced-complexity precoding with low precision digital-to-analog converters in massive multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) systems. Now she has joined the Marie-Curie ITN SEMANTIC program as a Ph.D. student at Chalmers University of Technology. Her focus under the ITN SEMANTIC project will be on application-aware design of forward-compatible NOMA transmission techniques.

Mehdi Sattari received his B.Sc. degree from Iran University of Science and Technology in 2015, and the M.Sc. degree from the University of Tehran, Tehran, Iran, in 2018 both in Electrical Engineering, Communication Systems. In His M.Sc. thesis, he focused on stochastic geometry-based coverage analysis of mmWave heterogeneous cellular networks. From Oct. 2018 to Apr. 2019, he participated in a project in the Iran telecommunication research center and he worked on a LTE MIMO testbed with a focus on the physical layer. From Apr. 2019 to Nov. 2020, he was a research assistant at the University of Tehran and he did some research projects on the application of machine learning in wireless communication. In Dec. 2020, he joined the Marie Sk?odowska Curie ITN SEMANTIC project as a Ph.D. student at Chalmers University of Technology. In this position, he will work on mmWave massive MIMO channel estimation and adaptive duplexing.

Sudharshan hail from India – Chennai, the city which is commonly known as the Southern Cultural Capital of India. He received his bachelor’s degree in Technology from Indian Institute of Information Technology, Jabalpur majoring in Electronics and Telecommunication engineering. During his undergraduate, he was nominated as Indian Youth delegate to China by Government of India and was actively involved in the cultural and technological exchange programmes in China, where he had gained more cognition on the advancement in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Telecommunications. After his undergraduate, he has been working as a researcher in Japan in the field of Personalized Drug Generative Adversarial Networks for quite a while and discovered studying away from home is always adventurous and that everyday is arcane. He is passionate about how AI can revolutionize people’s lives and has worked on projects that leverage AI techniques in the field of telecommunication, healthcare, defence and well-being. In 2020, he obtained his MSc degree from University of Edinburgh, UK in Artificial Intelligence. His master thesis focused on exploiting multiple signals based Robust Deep Learning for Human Activity Recognition. He has worked within an innovation & research environment and always kept in mind the business orientation and strategy, deploying solutions across different labs in Europe and Asia that allowed him to work in different teams, countries and cultures. Apart from his curricular activities, he was also actively involved in Charity Fundraising in Edinburgh for which he has been awarded “Edinburgh Award” by The University of Edinburgh. Sudharshan currently holds an Early-Stage Researcher position jointly with Nokia Bell Labs and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Ali Ehsanian received his B.Sc. degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic) in 2015, his B.Sc. Thesis title was “Simulation and Analysis of Optimal Power Allocation in a two-way relay channel for throughput rate improvement”. He received his M.Sc. degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic) in 2018, his M.Sc. Thesis was “Improve security in wireless communication systems using compressed sensing”. His focus was on wireless networks. He also started learning data science and machine learning as self study. Maryam received her B.Sc. in Computer science from University of Tehran, Iran in 2015. In 2018, she won “Invest Your Talent” scholarship granted by Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Italy to start a Master program. She chose Artificial Intelligence and Robotics program offered in Sapienza University of Rome. During the first year of her Master, she got involved in an internship program held by Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Italy, in 3Wlab company in Rome. She was a graduate student researcher in 3Wlab during this 3-month internship working on a project related to Dating Wooden Musical Instruments using Dendrochronological and Computer Vision Tools. In 2020, she started her master thesis traineeship in Scania, in Sweden. Her Master’s project focused on Generating Failure Data for Prognostics Using Generative Adversarial Networks. She received her M.Sc. in 2021 and right after, she joined the Marie-Curie ITN SEMANTIC project as an Industrial Doctoral Candidate at Telenor and KTH University. Her intended research project under the ITN SEMANTIC project focuses on the data driven network control and automation in large data networks for delivering the required quality of service to the end customers, and minimizing service downtime.

Navideh Completes her B.Sc majoring in Computer Science in Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Sciences at the University of Isfahan in 2017, and got invited to study her M.Sc in Computer Engineering in faculty of Computer Engineering at the same university due to being among five top. In her master she mainly focused on the Fifth Generation of Wireless Networks, specifically the radio domain. She graduated in 2020 and submitted her paper in 5G radio networks in 2021. She has joined the Marie Skłodowska-Curie ITN SEMANTIC project since the beginning of 2022 to work on the Sixth Generation of Wireless Networks. She is a PhD candidate at the Universitat Politècnica De Catalunya (UPC) and works at Iquadrat Informatica S. L. in association with the Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC) in Barcelona, Spain.

Muhammad Qurratulain Khan received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan, Pakistan. After completing his undergraduate studies, he has worked as a Cellular Operations Engineer at Saudi Telecom in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he gained more cognition in the wireless communication industry. In 2019 he received his M.Sc degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology Taxila, Pakistan majoring in Wireless Communications. In his M.Sc thesis he has focused on massive MIMO systems and proposed a novel technique for PAPR reduction in OFDM based massive MIMO systems. In 2019, he joined Center for Advanced Research in Engineering (CARE) Pvt. Ltd. Islamabad, Pakistan, where he worked as an algorithm lead on the project titled “5G-SDR: A Flexible Solution for Tactical Communications”. His research activities involved key technological advances in wireless communications including but not limited to advanced multi-antenna diversity techniques for multi-carrier communication, spectral leakage minimization and pencil beamforming via massive MIMO to design waveforms that are suitable for tactical communications. His research interests include signal processing for wireless communications, multi-carrier communication, massive MIMO systems, and mmWave communications. Since February 2022, he is an ESR at National Instruments Dresden, Germany in the framework of Marie Curie ITN SEMANTIC project, where he will also pursue his PhD at TU Dresden and will mainly work on spectrum coexistence and beam management techniques in multi-GHz bands for beyond 5G networks.

He joined the Marie-Curie ITN SEMANTIC project, as an Early Stage Researcher (ESR) and PhD candidate at National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in February 2022. His research interests span the fields of wireless communications, mobile edge computing, software defined networking and network function virtualization.
